Oversight Inc. has developed a telehealth platform called Home Care LINK. Our ambitious goal is to provide a non-traditional approach that has the potential to both reduce medical costs and improve a care recipient’s health outcome. We believe it will be especially beneficial for individuals living at home with chronic disease conditions. Chronic Care Management represents almost 90% of the US Healthcare spending. People living at home with chronic conditions contribute to that. One estimate indicates that 8.3 billion dollars are wasted each year on unnecessary emergency room visits. Many people have been searching for ways to reduce healthcare costs. So far, traditional approaches have had limited success. Home Care LINK’s (HCL) telehealth software uses smartphones and tablets to record the actions and observations of non-medical, in-home caregivers. These caregivers could be family members, volunteers or paid attendants. Obviously they are far less expensive, and they see the care recipients much more frequently than their medical providers. Initial research shows that structured caregiver observations offer considerable value. Plus, there are relatively few false positives. The Home Care LINK platform:
  • Communicates directly with the family’s Care Manager.
  • Digitally records all the caregiver’s actions and observations.
  • Sends alerts when critical conditions occur.
  • Responds to structured checklists created by the medical providers.
As the diagram shows, Home Care LINK’s telehealth platform can also receive and report input from multiple third party in-home medical devices, such as blood sugar testers and medicine dispensers. This information will be available in HCL’s reports. Of course, everyone is hoping for healthier outcomes. However, Oversight is looking to partner with medical bill payers to find realistic ways to use Home Care LINK’s platform to reduce healthcare spending.
